Marvin Rees has been named one of the most influential black people in the UK.
As reported by The Mirror , The Mayor of Bristol features in the latest edition of the annual Powerlist, which celebrates 100 people of African and African Caribbean heritage.
But Mr Rees is not the only Bristol resident making an appearance this year - historian David Olusoga has also been selected.
The list features people from the worlds of business, science, technology, politics, sport and the arts. It is chosen by a panel chaired by retired High Court judge Dame Linda Dobbs.

Mr Rees, a Labour Party member, has been the mayor and head of Bristol City Council since May 2016, ousting George Ferguson from the position.
Mr Olusoga, meanwhile, is a historian working in television. He recently spoke to Bristol Live about using Bristol as the setting for an upcoming episode in BBC series A House Through Time.
The Powerlist, which has been running for 13 years, is now topped by businessman Ismail Ahmed, founder of pioneering digital money transfer company WorldRemit.
The top 10 in the list are ranked, but the rest are not given a number.
