Marvin Harrison Jr named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week

You had a feeling Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr was going to break out this season, and it looks like it’s starting to happen. Some of it may have to do with OSU’s No. 1 receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, being out with an injury, but the skill set and pedigree he possesses usually translates into stardom.

And now, for his efforts last week against Arkansas State, Harrison Jr has been named the Big Ten’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week, along with Maryland quarterback Tualia Tagovailoa.

All Harrison Jr did against the Red Wolves was catch seven passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-12 Ohio State win. It was the second time the son of Hall of Famer, Marvin Harrison, tallied three scores, the other coming in the Rose Bowl in January.

It’s the first Big Ten Player of the Week honor for Harrison Jr, but don’t be surprised to see more of them coming through the rest of his career. It’s the first time an OSU player has been honored by the Big Ten in its weekly awards so far this year.
