Marvin Harrison Jr. Explains Legacy He Wants to Leave at Ohio State Beyond Stats

Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the biggest reasons why Ohio State is No. 2 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings with two weeks remaining in the season.

Harrison Jr., the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr., has entertained OSU fans and the college football landscape at large with his spectacular play on the field. Through 10 games, the junior wideout has registered 59 catches for 1,063 yards and 13 total touchdowns, building a campaign for this year’s Heisman Trophy.

In nearly five months, Harrison Jr. is projected to be a first-round selection in the 2024 NFL draft. He could become the first wide receiver to be selected at No. 1 since Keyshawn Johnson in ’96 out of USC.

However, before his time is up in Columbus, Ohio, the Buckeyes wide receiver told GQ Sports that he wants his legacy at OSU to be remembered for who he was as a person.

“I don’t want anyone to remember the awards, touchdowns, yards, whatever it may be,” Harrison Jr. said. “I just want people to remember the person who I was, you know? In the building, how was I as a teammate? How was my work ethic? I think my legacy will be my work ethic and the influence I had on my teammates. Most important is that I was the guy that treated everyone equally and said hi to everyone. I just want that to be remembered for that.”

Harrison Jr. enters Saturday’s game against Minnesota after a big performance against Michigan State, where he recorded seven receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns and an electric 19-yard rushing touchdown in the Buckeyes’ 38-3 victory.
