Marvin Bartley to miss Hibs return after bizarre Livingston suspension mix-up

Livingston star and former Hibs midfielder Marvin Bartley won't feature on the touchline or on the park when he returns to Easter Road.

David Martindale's Livi are set to visit Easter Road on Saturday, August 28.

But they'll be without player/assistant Bartley who mistakenly believed he had served a two-match ban carried over from last season.

He skipped the opener at Ibrox against Rangers and a home game against Aberdeen, with the Lions losing both fixtures.

However, the SFA insist the fact Bartley carried out his touchline duties alongside Martindale in those matches meant he did not actually serve his ban and must now sit out another pair of games.

That means he'll be absent against Hibs and also Motherwell the week before.

Bartley joined Hibs under Alan Stubbs, playing a part in the run to the 2016 Scottish Cup and promotion to the Premiership the following year.

He made a total of 123 appearances before moving to Livingston in 2019.
