Marvin Bartley's emotional farewell message to Hibs fans after Livingston move is confirmed

Livingston have confirmed the pre-contract signing of Hibs midfielder Marvin Bartley on a three-year deal.

The 32-year-old will move to the Tony Macaroni Arena when his Easter Road contract expires in the summer.

He has spent a successful four years in Leith since being brought in by Alan Stubbs on a free transfer from Leyton orient.

He helped Hibs to an historic Scottish Cup triumph in 2016, winning promotion back to the Ladbrokes Premiership the following year and qualifying for Europe after an impressive fourth placed finish in 2017/18.

As well as providing a physical presence on the pitch, Bartley proved an influential presence in the dressing room and was a popular figure amongst his teammates as well as fans.

He will now join Gary Holt’s Livingston, who was delighted to have secured the midfielder’s services.

“Davie [Martindale, assistant manager] and I are delighted to secure the services of Marvin for the next 3 seasons; he will bring that much needed experience to the squad and we feel he has a-lot to offer on and off the park for the club.

Ex-Hibs striker Steven Fletcher tried to "push through" Celtic move

“He has been a fantastic servant to Hibs and is a player we have both admired from afar. He has played a vast amount of football at a very good level in his career and we felt it was important to bring a player of this stature into the club to help the younger and more inexperienced players throughout the season.

“Marvin is a fantastic professional and role model for all the younger players to look up to at Livingston FC and I’m sure we will all see that over the course of the new season.

“We are both really looking forward to working with Marvin and he will most definitely add to this group of players we have signed up for next season and beyond.”
