Prime Minister Boris Johnson finally stepped in front of the cameras for a daily briefing - and the reaction was not positive.
The PM spoke in defence of advisor Dominic Cummings, who is in hot water for breaking lockdown restrictions to drive to Durham.
The hypocrisy of the move caused consternation, but Johnson is standing by his advisor, insisting that he "followed his instincts as a father", despite people up and down the country being separated from their loved ones for weeks.
That's caused plenty of anger and confusion - not to mention a slew of social media jokes.
And arguably the best among them came from Livingston midfielder Marvin Bartley, who made a typically Scottish football point.
The former Hibs man compared the conduct to alleged differing treatment for teams taking on Celtic or Rangers.
He wrote on Twitter: "One rule for them, one rule for us...
"This is like playing against one of the Old Firm!"
The 33-year-old did clarify that he was joking, with his followers praising the tweet in the replies.
