'Marvel's Wolverine' Opens Up Preorders, Bonus Content Following Gameplay Reveal

Insomniac Games has made fans wait for months, but the waiting game is finally over.

"Marvel's Wolverine" has officially revealed its preorder dates, bonus content, and what specific editions of the game bring to the table.

'Marvel's Wolverine' Opens Up Preorders

PlayStation shared a new blog post which confirmed that Insomniac Games' "Marvel's Wolverine" preorders are now open. The announcement took place alongside its special showcase in the State of Play event on June 2.

Here, PlayStation and Insomniac confirmed that fans from all over the world may now preorder the game directly on the PlayStation Store or other third-party retailers.

PlayStation and Insomniac reaffirmed that the game is set for a September 15 release date. Both parties likewise officially confirmed the game's suggested retail price (SRP) of $69.99.

Insomniac Games Reveals Bonus Content

Preordering "Marvel's Wolverine" comes with a set of early unlock bonuses that give players a head start going into the game.

Preorder bonuses include the Classic Brown Suit as an early access unlock, Reflective Claws, one additional Technique Point, and four PlayStation Avatars featuring portraits of Mystique, Logan, Jean, and Sabretooth.

Players who want more right out of the gate can opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition, which is priced at $79.99 USD.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the full game, all preorder bonuses, and five exclusive suits, including the Incredible, Savage, Age of Apocalypse, Night Hunt, and New Leather suits.

It also includes exclusive claws, including Smooth-Edged, Hollow Blade, Thick, Serrated Spine, and Tapered Claws, and three additional Technique Points. Insomniac confirmed that all suits and claws in the Deluxe Edition are purely cosmetic.

'Marvel's Wolverine' Gameplay Reveal

Alongside the details regarding the preorders and Digital Deluxe Edition, Insomniac Games also released the new extended gameplay trailer of "Marvel's Wolverine" during the State of Play event.

The trailer shows Logan tracking a group of mutants that are being hunted and captured by the cybernetic mercenaries, Reavers, who are working for Dr. Bolivar Trask, a well-known X-Men comic villain.

One of the biggest surprises in the trailer is none other than Logan's fellow X-Men member, Jean Grey, who was introduced here as the leader of the captured mutants.

Logan and Jean Grey team up to save the mutants from harm, and here, Insomniac shows off the fast, fluid, and violence-filled gameplay of "Marvel's Wolverine." Logan can use special combat moves, which the game calls "Techniques," and he will get support from Jean Grey's telekinetic abilities.

Players also get to fill in Logan's "Rage" power, which helps deliver stronger blows or activate his Healing Factor. That said, players may keep on building up their Rage to Tier 3 in order to unleash a massive succession of furious attacks, which Insomniac said is inspired by Marvel Comics' "Black, White, and Blood" series.
