Hollywood star Paul Rudd has been named People magazine's 'world's sexiest man alive'.
But that wasn't before the the eponymous Ant-Man from the hit Marvel movies was put through his paces on Tuesday night's episode of 'The Late Show'.
The show's host and self-proclaimed "sexiness adjudicator", Stephen Colbert, made sure that Rudd was the man for the title.
"I ran a thorough and comprehensive scientific evaluation on dozens of potentially top sexy living males," he joked.
In the interview skit with Colbert, when asked when he first realised he was sexy, Rudd said: “I was a baby, I didn’t know what sexy was. I just felt different,”
“Well, I wore a thong diaper. My diaper was a thong. And I knew that the other kids didn’t do that. Looking back, that’s obviously very sexy. I just thought it was … French.”
Colbert got Rudd to run demonstrate his credentials, getting him to demonstrate his "sexy slump", expose vulnerabilities and ensure he had scented his CV.
The trials included a photo shoot and a wet t-shirt demonstration; when asked what his age was Rudd truthfully answered he was 52.
"Sense of humour... very sexy," Colbert replied.
What did Rudd say in his People interview?

Speaking to People magazine, who administer the weighty title, Rudd said: “There are so many people who should get this before me.
“I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘ What ?'”
“This is not false humility.”
Rudd said that he told his wife before he told anyone else. The pair have been with his wife for 18 years and so when he told her she was married to the sexiest man alive she was understandably, "stupefied".
“But you know she was very sweet about it.
“After some giggling and shock, she said ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say.”
Rudd also said he plans to fully embrace his now globally acknowledged sexiness.
“I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’
"I’m getting business cards made.
“I’m hoping now that I’ll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B Jordan.
“And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life.
“I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder.
“I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”
