We can expect Angelina in the MCU pretty soon.
After reports that Angelina Jolie was in talks for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Eternals, this now seems to be locked down - and we know who she is playing.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Angelina Jolie has been cast as Sersi, who they describe as "a more outgoing Eternal who has not been afraid to move amongst humankind."
The character has a plethora of abilities in the Jack Kirby source material including superhuman strength and durability, molecular and atomic manipulation, psionic power, immortality and flight.
Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Oscar-nominee Kumail Nanjiani is also in negotiations to be cast in an undisclosed role.
Marvel's The Eternals 'to have first gay superhero movie lead' Hercules
In Marvel Comics, The Eternals were created by the ancient alien Celestials and were seen as their designated defenders of Earth against their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
It has already been reported that two characters who will apparently appear in the film include lovers Sersi, a female Eternal who longs to live with humanity, and Ikaris, a male Eternal who channels cosmic energy.
It is unknown who will portray Ikaris, but recent rumours on Reddit suggested that Outlander Sam Heughan is under consideration.
However, the same rumours touted Angelina in a different role, so we would take that with a pinch of salt.

The same reports also suggested that Milie Bobby Brown would be the first actor to portray an Eternal in the MCU, appearing in Avengers: Endgame in April.
We can also probably expect a lead role for a Marvel's The Eternals 'to have first gay superhero movie lead' Hercules.
These remain unconfirmed rumours at this point.
The Eternals will be directed by indie director Chloe Zhao and will shoot later this year.
The Eternals does not currently have a release date.
