Marvel's Jeremy Renner 'conscious' and 'set for surgery' after horror accident

Jeremy Renner is reportedly conscious and will be undergoing surgery following his horror accident.

The Marvel star was airlifted to hospital after he was left in a "critical but stable condition" on Sunday when the safety feature on his Snow Cat plough reportedly failed and sent it rolling over one of his legs.

According to reports, he lost a 'serious amount of blood' from the accident.

And now, as published by Extra, it is understood that he is able to speak and will be undergoing the surgery as part of his recovery process.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Hawkeye actor was ploughing the road close to his family home near the Mt Rose-Ski Tahoe resort near Lake Tahoe.

Jeremy is reported to have been trying to clear the route out for his family home following a "massive storm" on New Year's Eve.

The Snow Cat ploughing machine was said to be responsible the actor's injuries, causing him to lose "a lot of blood" and suffer "extensive" injuries to his leg and other parts of his body.

"A neighbour, who's a doctor, was able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived," TMZ reports.

"We're told the area was treated like an active crime scene ... with police arriving at 8pm to impound the Snowcat, which Jeremy's previously posted video of himself using on his property after snowstorms.

"The issue, we're told, is the machine has extensive safety features, and should not have rolled over Jeremy."

A representative for the actor discussed his condition on January 1 and said he is in 'critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow.'

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office also said in a statement: "At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.

"Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.

"Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.

"The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident."
