Developer Vision trailer reveals new details
NetEase has revealed a Developer Vision video for Marvel Rivals Season 4.5. In it, we get a breakdown of the new Team Ups, the new Hero, as well as some info on the main plot that’ll run up until the next season. Check it out below:
A new event is coming

The Jade Scrolls of K’un-Lun event drops with Season 4.5. Players can earn the Psylocke - Fleeting Butterfly skin, as well as additional cosmetics for Spider-Man and Storm. There’s free rewards, and a Premium track to this one.
Namor removed from Gamma Charge

My prayers have been answered. Namor is no longer a part of the Gamma Charge Team Up, meaning no more super-powered laser squids beaming me from afar. He’s getting a new Team Up with Hela, however, called Deep Wrath, unlocking the new Tidal Dirge ability.
Daredevil joins the fight!
The new Hero for Season 4.5 is Daredevil. The Man Without Fear is a Duelist, using his radar sight ability to track down enemies through walls. His Ultimate inflicts fear on any opponent looking his way, making it extremely powerful against groups.
How long is downtime expected to last?

Marvel Rivals has been extremely consistent with the downtime between recent seasonal updates. NetEase is once again estimating 2-3 hours of downtime, though it’s pretty much been bang on 2 hours in the past few seasons. As such, expect 2 hours of downtime, but be advised that it could run a little bit later.
Ragnarok Rebirth is no more

There’s a new Team Up, and changes to existing ones coming in Marvel Rivals Season 4.5. Unfortunately, Ragnarok Rebirth is being removed entirely, meaning Thor and Hela no longer team up with each other. To compensate, Hela joins Namor in Deep Wrath, and of course Thor still has a Team Up with Angela.
That’s all for today

I’m heading off now, but I’ll return bright and early tomorrow morning to cover the launch of Marvel Rivals Season 4.5. There will be my live coverage of downtime, and then some early gameplay impressions once everything is back online. Until then!

Downtime has started
Marvel Rivals is now offline. Downtime will last 2-3 hours, and you’ll be unable to launch the game until everything is back online. I’ll update as soon as servers are back.
Marvel Rivals server connection failed
If you try to load into Marvel Rivals currently, you'll be met with a "Server connection failed" error message. This is normal during downtime, so just quit the game and make sure to check for an update.
Season 4.5 roadmap revealed

We’ve now received the full roadmap for Marvel Rivals Season 4.5. It’ll run right up until November 14, when Season 5 will start. Until then, there’s events, new skins, and a Mystery Mode that’s yet to be unveiled.
Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 update file has launched

I've just managed to trigger the Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 update on PS5. It's 4.832GB on PS5, so be sure to check on your platform of choice, triggering the update manually if you have to.
90 minutes of downtime to go
If the estimated times provided by NetEase hold true, Marvel Rivals servers will be back online in just under 90 minutes. Once the game is live, I'll jump in and provide an early look at what's changed, including my impressions of Daredevil's abilities and moveset.
Daredevil is a Duelist in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals adds Daredevil this season. He's a new Duelist, following the Vanguard Angela added last season. He's an interesting character, able to sense enemies through walls, and with a new Team Up that involves The Punisher. It's likely that Daredevil will be the most popular new Hero we've seen in the game so far, and I can't wait to try him out.
One hour of downtime to go

Hopefully, Marvel Rivals should be back online in just one hour, when servers will go back online. Make sure you've downloaded the new update, as you'll need it to load into the game following downtime.
October Twitch Drops revealed

There's new Twitch Drops available in October, centered around Daredevil, Mister Fantastic, and Jeff the Land Shark. You'll need to watch Marvel Rivals streamers for certain amounts of time to earn free cosmetics and skins. These run up until November 7, 2025.
30 minutes to go!
You'll be able to get online in Marvel Rivals in just under 30 minutes. This will let you check out the new Battle Pass, and the new Hero: Daredevil.
Marvel Rivals is back online

Marvel Rivals downtime has ended. You can now jump in and try out Daredevil, and look through the new Battle Pass. Moving forward, I'll be providing moment to moment impressions of the new season.
New Achievements to earn

There's new Achievements to earn in Marvel Rivals. Take down an enemy Iron Fist as Daredevil, and partner with Marvel Knights members to unlock new rewards.
The Punisher now has a flash grenade

Thanks to a new Team Up, The Punisher has a blinding grenade shot ability that's very useful indeed. He can also see Daredevil's priority target through walls.
Daredevil's abilities in-game

Having toyed around with Daredevil at the Practice Range, it's clear that he's a complex Hero. His Fury can be triggered, giving you a choice between a chain whip that awards bonus health, or a throwing weapon attack that slows enemies. His dash is great for closing distance, and his Ultimate slowly does damage and blinds any enemy looking his way.
First match as The Punisher

I've yet to be fast enough to grab Daredevil in Quick Match, but I did team up as The Punisher. The new grenade is extremely good as a counter to dive characters like Spider-Man, allowing you to follow up with shotgun blasts.
Hulk gets an awesome new costume

The Maestro bundle for Hulk features an awesome Hulk costume, and can be purchased from the store alongside the 2099 Daredevil bundle. There's emotes, stickers and more included as well.
The Golden Age Captain America costume looks amazing

There's a brand new Captain America skin available on page 4 of the new Battle Pass. The Golden Age costume is a real throwback, giving Cap a wonderfully colorful variant.
New missions to complete

Weekly missions have refreshed as part of Marvel Rivals Season 4.5. They’ll grant Chrono Tokens that can be used in the Battle Pass. If you want to clear them fast, I’d recommend picking a Strategist for a few games.
Black and Gold Spider-Man is in the new event rewards

The Jade Scrolls of K’un-Lun event features a bunch of new skins to earn. The first page has a Black and Gold Spider-Man costume, which is an original design for Season 4.5.
Moon Knight Mech is the final Battle Pass costume reward

Fusing the design principles of Ultron/Iron Man with the hooded cloak of Moon Knight, the Moon Knight Mech skin is well worth working towards. It’s right at the end of the Battle Pass, however, so start completing all available challenges to unlock it as fast as possible.
That’s all for today

I’m signing off now, ending my live coverage of Season 4.5’s launch. I’ll be back November 14 to cover the release of Season 5, detailing whoever the mystery Hero is, and offering info on downtime. Goodbye for now!
