The Marvel Rivals season 3.5 patch will arrive on Aug. 8 and bring along buffs and nerfs for multiple heroes for the second half of The Abyss Awakens.
The constant balancing changes keep the game from becoming stale with the same meta and hero composition. The buffs bring underused heroes to the spotlight, while the nerfs reduce the overusage of characters, facilitating new team compositions to play with.
On top of that, Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 also adds Blade to the roster. He will be a Duelist, allowing players to create new attacking compositions that put him on the pedestal. But for now, let’s take a look at all the buffs and nerfs coming with the mid-season update.
All Hero buffs in Marvel Rivals season 3.5
Season 3.5 buffs Adam Warlock, Doctor Strange, Groot, Thor, Iron Fist, Star-Lord, and Spider-Man.
Doctor Strange’s Daggers of Denak will have two extra charges (from 8 to 10), which means he can put more magical pressure in fights. His Cloak of Levitation will have a shorter cooldown (from 15 to 12 seconds), allowing quicker escapes and frequent repositioning.
Groot’s Vine Strike range has been increased from 20m to 22m, and his Flora Colossus ability affects a larger area (from 20m to 24m). This will give the Vanguard better area control.
Thor will gain a fixed one Thorforce every time he exits the awakened state from the Awakening Rune. Enemies who leave the Lightning Realm will also be grounded for two seconds, limiting their escape ability.
Iron Fist gets his Team-Up Anchor removed, so the devs give him several buffs to make up for it. The fifth hit of his Jeet Kune Do deals more damage (from 50 to 55), Yat Jee Chung Kuen now deals more max-health-based damage (from 2.1% to 2.7%), and K’un-Lun Kick’s first strike damage has been increased from 30 to 35. Even his healing has improved slightly, with bonus health decaying more slowly.
Star-Lord will gain 25 Bonus Health when using Stellar Shift, and a maximum of 25, which lasts for three seconds before decaying to 0 over 1 second.
Spider-Man’s Ultimate Ability, Spectacular Spin, is now stronger, as it will deal increased damage per second from 150 to 170.
Coming to Strategists, Adam Warlock gets several buffs. His Karmic Revival Ultimate now costs a bit less energy to use, from 5000 to 4700. His ability also has a new effect where revived allies gain Bonus Health equal to 70% of Maximum Health, which lasts for 5 seconds before decaying to 0 over 2 seconds. Each hit of his Cosmic Cluster now reduces Avatar Life Stream charge times by 0.3 seconds.
Mantis’ healing gets a 10% boost when teamed up properly. Her Soul Resurgence excess healing to Bonus Health conversion rate has been increased from 0.7 to 1.
All Hero nerfs in Marvel Rivals season 3.5
The mid-season update nerfs Black Panther, Cloak and Dagger, Mantis, Magneto, and Wolverine.
Magneto’s Metal Bulwark and Iron Bulwark shields are now slightly weaker, dropping from 300 to 250. Black Panther’s Spirit Rend ability now has a longer cooldown from 8 to 10 seconds. Cloak and Dagger’s Eternal Bond will need more energy to use, from 4000 to 4300.
Wolverine also sees a nerf to his Ultimate. The energy cost for Last Stand has jumped from 2800 to 3400, making it harder to activate frequently. On top of that, the Primal Flame – Phoenix Warrior Team-Up lifesteal no longer helps build Ultimate energy.
Although Mantis did receive buffs, she also got a few nerfs to balance things out. Her Healing Flower’s healing over time has been reduced slightly, and the number of projectile charges on Life Energy Blast has dropped from 20 to 15.
