Marvel Rivals will be playable on Nintendo Switch 2 soon, NetEase has confirmed. On being asked by IGN about a potential Switch 2 version during this year’s GDC, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo revealed that the studio is “working on it.”
A Marvel Rivals’ Switch 2 port has been long-rumored, not to mention fans asking for a handheld version of the game for quite some time now. Earlier last year, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that a Switch 2 version was under consideration, though the studio had yet to receive an official dev kit from Nintendo.
It seems like things have progressed. While a Switch 2 version is now confirmed to be in development, Koo didn’t reveal any other details, such as a potential release window. Instead, he revealed that the studio will announce it when there’s more news to share.
Marvel Rivals mobile port not happening anytime soon

Unfortunately for mobile players, it seems this version of Marvel Rivals won’t be launching on Android and iOS devices anytime soon. In the same interview, Koo explained how the game won’t work on mobile devices, mainly because of its controls.
“Yeah, this one on the mobile game is not going to work,” he said. “If we’re going to do a mobile, it’s going to be a whole different game. Because of the feedback, the touch. The controls are just so different.” Given it’s NetEase, it wouldn’t be too surprising if a full-fledged mobile version of Marvel Rivals eventually sees the light of day.
In other news, Marvel Rivals Season 7 just launched, bringing with it a new Strategist hero, White Fox, alongside several quality-of-life additions and improvements, such as new Team-ups.
It’s just the beginning, however, as the Marvel Rivals Season 7 roadmap lists a new Convergence map, Peter Parker-based limited-time event, Deadpool, and Jeff costumes, among other additions, are on the way.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
