Marvel Rivals fans are hyped for the new Captain America skin dropping on 4th of July

If you’re a Captain America main in Marvel Rivals and want a shiny new skin for Independence Day in the United States, the developers have you covered with a unique symbiote-themed costume.

Marvel Rivals regularly experiments with different styles to make unique cosmetics for their existing roster of heroes, and the next update is going to bring two new skins for Captain America and Spider-Man.

While Spider-Man’s Future Foundation cosmetic is inspired by the Fantastic Four theme and can change colors from white to black, fans are most excited about the Captain Klyntar skin, which gives Captain America a black venomized avatar. The black goo seems to be oozing out of his suit, and the vibranium shield is also drenched in the substance.

“Definitely didn’t expect cap to be the first to get venomized,” one fan said on Reddit. Captain Klyntar seems to be inspired by the Klyntar map in Marvel Rivals, known as the planet of the symbiotes. The symbiote-enhanced version of Cap also appears in the Venomverse Marvel comics, where multiple other heroes like Rocket Raccoon and Dr. Strange were also venomized in the alternate timeline.

While Captain Klyntar is only the first venomized skin in Marvel Rivals, the developers could introduce more heroes’ skins based on the theme in the future. Captain America currently has the third-highest win rate among other tanks, according to the game’s data. He works great as a staller and soaks in vast amounts of damage in the frontline by taking the enemy team’s attention away from his team.

July 4, 2025, also makes sense for a Captain America skin release as he embodies America’s values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The cosmetic will be available in the in-game store, and players can buy it with units or lattice.
