Marvel fans can't believe which show is beating Daredevil: Born Again as the MCU's highest rated live-action series

Daredevil: Born Again.

Just one week in, and Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has been dubbed the MCU's second-highest rated live-action show. Though Marvel fans seem to be more concerned with sharing their shock over the title currently in the top spot than they are celebrating the Man Without Fear's triumphant return.

WandaVision may have won three Primetime Emmys, Loki had huge ramifications on the wider MCU, and Wonder Man offered up a surprisingly sweet, must-watch exploration of male friendship. But it's Ms. Marvel, with its 98% Rotten Tomatoes score, that is beating out Daredevil: Born Again season 2's near-perfect 94%.

Starring Iman Vellani, the series follows New Jersey-based Avengers obsessive Kamala Khan, as she discovers a mystical bangle that grants her superpowers of her own. Quickly, she learns that she comes from a long line of heroes who protect the world from interdimensional beings – and plots to step up as a protector herself. A task that proves... well, easier said than done, when you're also navigating homework and other typical teen dramas.

"Love Iman and the characters in general, but Ms Marvel might be my least favorite MCU show. IDK how it has the highest rating," one watcher wrote on Twitter, as another argued: "Loki should be number 1. Ms. Marvel is not supposed to be in the top 8."

Others seemed to share similar sentiments, with a third tweeting: "I just saw it was Ms Marvel… I don't hate the show, but it shouldn't be no.1. No.5 maybe if we're going season by season."

Not everyone seemed to be riled up by Ms. Marvel's ranking, however. "Ms. Marvel is a very fun TV show to watch, but it was made for teenage girls. If you're neither, you probably won't like it," said one level-headed viewer, as another added: "I don't think Ms. Marvel is the best MCU show but idk, RT is based on just how many people liked it to some degree. And I can see most everyone finding *some* enjoyment in it."

"It's Ms Marvel, and if you understand Marvel lore you'll know she has one of the best origin stories to be depicted on tv, up there with Tony Stark's origin story," claimed one particularly passionate viewer.

Despite its acclaim, there are currently no plans for a second season of Ms. Marvel. That doesn't mean we won't see the titular character again, though. She's already made the transition from Disney Plus to the big-screen MCU in Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, and it's very likely she'll be rubbing elbows with Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, Dominique Thorne's Ironheart and Joe Locke's Billy Kaplan at some point in a Young Avengers flick in the not-so-distant future.

For now, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is currently airing Tuesday evenings in the US, and Wednesday mornings in the UK.
