Marvel Day at Sea coming to Disney Cruise Line in 2017

The worlds of comic books and cruising have come together as Disney Cruise Line has announced it will celebrate the superheroes and super villains of the Marvel Universe during celebrations in fall 2017 dubbed "Marvel Day at Sea."

The Marvel Day at Sea will be part of the itineraries for seven special voyages on the Disney Magic departing from New York City in late 2017, and will feature characters from Marvel comics, films and animated series.

For one day on each of the seven sailings of the Disney Magic, passengers will be transported to a world of Marvel, featuring interactions with iconic superheroes and villains, a themed deck party, youth activities, special merchandise and unique food and beverage offerings.

In addition, the Marvel Day at Sea will feature screenings of movies from Marvel and from the Disney XD channel, including "Avengers Assemble," "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Some of the iconic characters passengers will find during each Marvel Day at Sea include Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor and many others. The activities will also feature fireworks and trivia games, as well as Marvel-themed games, activities and arts and crafts.

The Marvel Day at Sea activities will be found on Disney Magic Bahamian seven- and eight-night cruises departing from New York on Oct. 6, 14, 28; Nov. 4, 11 and 18, 2017. The themed day will also be included on the Oct. 21, 2017 seven-night Canadian Coast cruise.
