The boss of Marvel Studios has detailed a scrapped Avengers: Endgame scene that would have been extremely traumatic for kids.
Kevin Feige was reflecting on Infinity War and Endgame during a chat with Empire in London when he was asked about the sequel’s writers’ recent revelation that the blockbuster almost featured the severed head of Captain America.
He explained that, in an attempt to make Thanos the most fearsome threat possible, they devised a scene that would have seen the villain – played by Josh Brolin – sat on a throne comprised of skulls.
“One of the ideas was, when they finish the time heist, they returned to a world [in 2023] that Thanos had already conquered, that involved all of that, the throne made of bones and skulls and had him tossing, like a bowling ball, Captain America’s severed skull head, still in the cowl, to Captain America,” Feige said. “And it was pretty cool, but the logic to get there defeated us.”
He revealed that the gruesome moment “ended up in a set of pages at one point in the script” and that concept art of the moment may be in existence.
Marvel recently announced their full plans for Phase Four at Comic-Con.

While in Comic-Con, Feige revealed which Avenger could have single-handedly taken down Thanos if he had no back up from his army.
