Martyn Ford weighs 315lb ahead of Iranian Hulk fight - but won't be heaviest boxer ever

Martyn Ford currently weighs 315lbs ahead of his boxing debut against Iranian Hulk.

The British star will face his rival - real name Sajad Gharibi - in a clash that has previously been branded the 'heaviest match in boxing history'.

Ford, who is also known as the 'World's Scariest Man', has been forced to trim his weight ahead of the ring showdown having previously been able to weigh a massive 330lbs.

Now, he has posted a weight update on his Instagram, with the caption: "Weighed in this morning at 143kg. Feel amazing in the lead up to this fight, still powerful, explosive and working hard on speed.

"Time to step it up even more now, no letting up, I will be the best version of ME ... no matter what, I WILL be ready. (Sorry/not sorry for my pout).

Despite weighing in at a monstrous 315lbs ahead of the fight, Ford will not rank as the heaviest fighter in boxing history.

The heaviest fighter was American Dusty Nichols who weighed an incredible 498lbs when he fought Deontay Wilder back in 2010.

He is followed by Eric 'Butterbean' Esch who walked to the ring at 426lbs followed by Gabe Brown at 365lbs back in 2010.

Nikolai Valuev who famously fought David Haye in a 'David vs Goliath' clash weighed-in at 348lbs for a clash against Alarim Uysal in 1997.

Ford stands at an incredible six feet eight inches tall and has a sizeable height advantage over his opponent Gharibi who stands at six feet two inches.

His rival has claimed to have weighed over 400lbs before he began his recent training camp to face Ford.

Ford has a background in MMA training and has been keen to settle his rivalry with Gharibi since the pair first exchanged verbal jabs after his signature for Polish promotion KSW.

The 39-year-old believes his maiden boxing appearance could signal a career in fighting if it is to end as a success.

“Yeah 100 per cent," Ford said when asked about a future in fighting. "For me the MMA is something I want to test myself in and I have already spoken to KSW and that is something they are more than happy to link in.

"I love the idea of the Boxstar so if it is a collaboration, one on and one off. We will see what comes but there is definitely growth for me in both areas.

"As long as I can get the opponents I feel like I have four or five years of sharpness in me. I have the right team around me and I have a good mindset.

"I am stable in my life and can afford to train properly. I genuinely have a passion for this and that is all you need."
