Martyn Ford compares Iranian Hulk to a "chicken wing" after "scared" claim

Martyn Ford has laughed off Iranian Hulk 's claim he was running scared from their fight by comparing his rival to a "chicken wing".

Ford and Hulk - real name Sajad Gharibi - were supposed to fight on April 30 at The O2 arena after their original date was pushed back. The fight was supposed to headline a Boxstar event, but it was cancelled over "mental health concerns" after Gharibi burst into tears during a TV interview.

Gharibi refuted Ford's reasoning for the fight cancellation and blamed him for it collapsing, threatening legal action for his claims and demanding a new opponent. The feud between the two strongmen still looms large, with Ford labelling Gharibi a "chicken wing" in the latest putdown of his rival.

"If I order a MASSIVE steak from a restaurant and the waiter delivers me a chicken wing, just because I'm hungry, doesn't mean I'm eating something I don't want," he wrote on social media. "I'll wait for the waiter to go back and get me that steak .... and I'm STILL hungry, we just need to find a different restaurant that sells REAL food."

Ford, who is also known as the 'World's Scariest Man', squared off with Gharibi once before their fight was cancelled. Gharibi was pushed across the ring by Ford after the Iranian tried to take him down just moment earlier. Gharibi's actions didn't set well with his family, stating they "disowned" him after the face-off.

Gharibi claims the strongmen duo were supposed to have a second staredown at the Paramount Hotel in Dubai, but Ford "hid" behind his bodyguards to avoid the face-off. "The face-to-face was supposed to be held in Paramount Hotel," he said.

"There were press, too. Ford was hiding behind some bodyguards, unfortunately, and didn’t show up. This is embarrassing to me. When this happened in Dubai, I was only bothered by the thought of hurting Iranian people’s feelings and I apologised to them. My family members were upset, because they didn’t see what they were expecting to see from me.

"All these made me gather spirits and become thirstier for revenge, but the competition I’d planned for was cancelled by Ford. It’s not just me, he won’t fight any other fighter and this obviously means fear, to keep staying away from facing any athlete. It is truly embarrassing."

Ford, who recently signed with Daniel Kinahan, said he feels " 21 again " after losing almost 60lbs whilst preparing to fight Gharibi. The Brit weighed 360lbs when the fight was announced and trimmed down to 302lbs by the time it was cancelled.
