Marty Morrissey tempted to get botox again after testing procedure on his new RTE show

Marty Morrissey said he’d be tempted to get botox again after testing the procedure out on his new RTE show.

The first episode of Marty And Bernard’s Big Adventure will show the veteran presenter get the injection with Bernard O’Shea beside him holding his hand.

Marty, 60, said: “They told me when I got the botox it would change me completely and I would end up looking like Bernard Brogan.

“That didn’t happen but the botox was fine actually, it was grand.”

When asked if he could see himself getting hooked on the anti-aging procedure, he said: “No, I don’t think so, you are what you are. But I understand anyone who wanted to do it. Nose wax I wouldn’t do.

“I actually wouldn’t mind trying the botox again to be honest but a nose wax no way, that was painful.

“The botox was painless actually but of course he was one of the top 10 surgeons in the world.”

And explaining why he opted out of the procedure, 40-year-old Bernard said: “I didn’t realise Marty was as much of a risk taker.

“I’m quite conservative, I wouldn’t be, I was a bit of a scardy [cat]. We would have a laugh but I’ve a dreadful fear of needles.”

The two-part show, which will see the pair bring their bromance to New York, will debut on RTE One at 9.30pm on Sunday.

However, speaking about the pressure that comes with the prime time slot, particularly after the success of Daniel And Majella’s USA Roadtrip, the lads said they are hoping to just make viewers smile.

Cork man Marty added: “We are privileged to have the 9.30pm slot because it is a prime time slot here and it is following Daniel and Majella and I love their show and I watch it so there is a bit of pressure.

“But I mean I loved it, I never laughed as much as I did for those few weeks with Bernard and the crew. We never say never, we are just hoping that on Sunday night people really like the programme, I’m even happy with a smile.”

Laois-born Bernard added: “I can see a massive rap battle where we take them on.

“There is always pressure, like I remember when Bridget And Eamonn came out everyone was saying is it the new Mrs Brown’s Boys and I remember I’d always think if we had 10% of Daniel and Majella’s success we would be delighted as well.

“I’ve seen their show and I really love it, I think it is excellent.”
