Marty Hurney says Panthers considered Greg Little a first-round talent

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney moved up 10 spots in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft to take Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little, who the team wants to be their left tackle of the future.

As it turns out, Hurney and the Panthers were trying to move up to get Little much earlier in the draft. Speaking in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio, Hurney talked about Little. He says they were trying to trade up to get him as early as the No. 21 overall pick in the first round. Listen.

Carolina probably gave up too much draft capital in the trade with Seattle, but if the move netted their franchise left tackle in Little, then there won’t be any reason to complain.
