Martine McCutcheon shares moving poem 'to tell people you love them' after brother's death

Martine McCutcheon shared a moving poem on living and loving life after her younger brother LJ's death.

The 46-year-old actress recently revealed her brother Laurence John died 'suddenly' at the age of 31 and there was 'no medical explanation' for his death.

One week later, a heartbroken Martine took to her Instagram Stories to share Alysha Waghorn's poem that reminded people to 'tell people you love them'.

"Darling, just go ahead and love your life," the poem started. "Take pictures of everything. Capture the moments big and small that make you feel alive.

"Tell people you love them. And mean it - truly mean it. Talk to random strangers. Learn their stories. Do all the things that excite you and stop playing small.

"Stop being worried about all the things that can go wrong when the only thing that matters is all the magic that could go right."

"There is so much life to be lived. So much love to receive. Open yourself up. Bloom."

Martine shared the news of her brother's death in an Instagram post last week alongside two photos of her sibling.

She wrote in the accompanying caption: "My heart is forever broken. My baby brother, my gentle giant, sadly passed away, suddenly, 2 weeks ago. He was 31 years old."

Martine said LJ had been due to get married next month and she had been asked to be a bridesmaid. She said the last time she saw him was just days before his death, after he'd been to a suit fitting with her husband Jack McManus.

Reflecting on it, she said: "I was asked to be bridesmaid and the last time I saw him, was a few days before he passed.

"He, Jack and his future stepson had been to try on their wedding suits and then they came back to have dinner with his fiancée and the family to see our new home. He looked so tanned, tall and handsome. The best I've ever seen him. Ironic really."

The Love Actually star said in the post there is "no medical explanation" behind her brother's death, adding that the family are still looking into the cause.

She said: "There is no medical explanation as to why we lost him so soon and whilst we investigate further, we are having to accept that nothing will bring our boy back to us."

Her brother's fiancée Jay Eaton spoke of his death and said she's taking things 'one day at a time'.

She wrote on Instagram: "Thank you to everyone for your kind words it’s very comforting to read all your messages Lj was my soulmate and we were so happy to be getting married life can be so cruel and we are taking it one day at a time x".
