Martine McCutcheon films first Botox treatment at 45 in brutally honest video

Martine McCutcheon has become one of the few celebrities to be honest about their cosmetic surgery - as the former EastEnders actress filmed herself undergoing Botox treatment.

The 45-year-old took to social media on Bank Holiday Monday to give her fans a candid insight into her recent dabble with face-freezing injections.

The Love Actually shared a video of herself undergoing a Botox treatment with her 439,000 followers on her Instagram Stories.

In the promotional video for the Thérapie Clinic, the Tiffany Mitchell actress can be seen receiving the wrinkle-busting injections on her face after first detailing having the treatment back in 2016.

"My main concern is here. Can we sort that out with Botox?" Martine says to her consultant while pointing to the lines beside her eyes.

The footage then shows the clinician then going on the expertly inject the desired areas.

"Yes of course," the Botox provided replies to the star.

"We can put some Botox here just to ever so slightly lift it and smooth over those lines. Yes so when you smile - smile for me - all those dynamic lines that you see, these will be ever so slightly smoothed."

As defined by the NHS website, Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, such as crow's feet and frown lines.

The results of the procedure are not permanent - with a treatment usually lasting for around four months.

Prices for the injections vary across the UK, but can cost between £100 to £350 on average for an area to be treated.

Speaking in 2016, Martine revealed that she was left "looking deranged" after her first ever experience of Botox but grew to love the age-defying treatment.

The mum-of-one has previously spoken about her use of Botox while appearing on Loose Women (martinemccutcheon/Instagram)

"When I had a really tough time being unwell, and trying to have rapidity and it didn't go well, it basically showed on my face a lot and I looked ravaged.," the mum-of-one said while appearing on Loose Women.

"I just looked in the mirror and thought I've always had nice skin, I always had a nice beautiful glow, and it has gone."

The star went on to confess to viewers of the ITV daytime show that she now loves the anti-ageing injections.

"So I had Botox and I didn't like it, it made me look a bit strange, and then I had it again, and Oh my god, I loved it, I absolutely loved it, because it didn't look like I wasn't me anymore, I just didn't looked like me but not a creased pillow basically," she explained while appearing on the chat show five years ago.

As well as sharing her experience with cosmetic tweakments over the Bank Holiday weekend, Martine also opened up about her ongoing battle with her health.

In 2011, the Perfect Moment singer was diagnosed with ME - a longterm illness that causes an overwhelming feeling of tiredness.

The mum-of-one also suffers from Lyme disease, an infectious bacterial condition passed on from being bitten by an infected tick.

On Monday, the Laurence Olivier Award winner shared a candid post with her Instagram followers where she sent "so much love" to "anyone living with any invisible or autoimmune disease."

"You aren’t alone - there are many of us. Keep talking, google support groups and don’t let your condition define you," the star said in part of a lengthy caption of herself taking a "Nanny Nap" on her Instagram page.

"We are all much more! Stay grateful for the good stuff - I’m grateful for my little family taking care of me and my friend @mrswoots for letting me snooze on her sofa, keeping an eye on Rafferty and making me pizza today!" she continued in the inspiring post.
