Martin Tyler slammed as fans accuse him of 'celebrating' Liverpool goal vs Tottenham

Martin Tyler has been ridiculed by fans after he appeared to 'celebrate' Roberto Firmino's winner at Tottenham .

The Brazilian struck in the first-half to seal the Reds' 20th win of the season in their 21st game.

But fans were more bothered about Tyler's reaction to Firmino's goal after he screamed "Yes!" on commentary.

One questioned: "Why did Martin Tyler shout YESSS when Firmino scores?"

While a second said: “Martin Tyler actually celebrated that goal in his “yesssssss”.

A third asked: "Has anyone else noticed Martin Tyler shouting “yessssssssssssssss” as Liverpool score"

Another added: "Was that Martin Tyler celebrating when Firmino scores??"

Before a fifth said: "Martin Tyler back Firmino to score first did he?"

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp couldn't mirror Tyler's excitement however having been frustrated with his side's second-half showing.

They dominated the first 45 but were unable to kill the game off and Tottenham will feel angered they didn't take some of the chances presented to them.

And Klopp said the Premier League leaders need to be "honest with themselves" after failing to hammer home their advantage in north London.

He said: "First and foremost the result is the most important thing. One team deserved to win and that was us. To win at Tottenham is pretty special. That the game wasn’t decided after 50-60 minutes was our fault.

It was very intense for us. You can expect them to defend deep in this stadium, but it was 4-6-0 in the first half. If it was easy to win here, a lot more teams would do it.

I’m over the moon about the result, but we have to talk about the performance. We should have scored more goals – that’s the truth. We have to be honest with ourselves."
