Martin Tyler had the most casual reaction to a brilliant Chelsea goal

Few people have watched more soccer matches than Martin Tyler. The famed commentator has been Sky Sports’ lead soccer voice since the early 90s and spent decades calling matches with various networks before that.

Basically, Tyler has seen it all on the pitch. And maybe — just maybe — he’s watched so much soccer that he stopped caring this season.

Because it certainly seemed that way during Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League match between Chelsea and Lille OSC.

Tyler witnessed Chelsea’s Willian score a brilliant, go-ahead goal off a half volley, and Tyler hardly reacted. He described what had unfolded as if it was routine tap-in goal, and, as you can see, it wasn’t routine at all.

C’mon, Martin. You don’t have to go nuts, but that goal absolutely deserved more excitement.

The Turkish commentators had the right idea.

Chelsea would hold on and win, 2-1.
