West Ham have sanctioned the sale of attacking midfielder Martin Samuelsen to Championship outfit Hull City.
The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract at the KCOM Stadium and could make his debut for Grant McCann's play-off chasers on Saturday when they travel to face Derby County.
"I’m really excited to be here," Samuelsen told Hull's official website. "It was an easy decision to join Hull City, especially so with the club’s recent history.
“The manager was also a big factor. I know him well from my time on loan at Peterborough earlier in my career.
"He was a big influence on me during my time there and I’m looking forward to working with him again. I can’t wait to get going.”
Samuelsen was a very highly-rated prospect when he joined West Ham from Manchester City in 2015.
He played for the first time at senior level in both legs of a Europa League qualifying tie against Maltese side Birkirkara in July 2015 before spending the rest of that season on loan at third-tier Peterborough.
A short-lived stint at Blackburn followed before Samuelsen - who was otherwise limited to Under-23 action at West Ham - returned to Peterborough, where he featured under current Hull boss McCann.
He was later dispatched for similar stints with Burton Albion and Dutch side VVV-Venlo before completing a year back in Norway with FK Haugesund.
Samuelsen - who has earned three senior international caps for Norway - follows Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane to become Hull's second signing of the January window to date.
