Martin Roberts' fans show their support after he shares sad news

Television presenter Martin Roberts has been met with an outpouring of love and support after sharing sad news with his fans. The Homes Under the Hammer host chared the news on social media that his father had died.

In a candid video, Martin announced his dad died peacefully at the age of 90. He explained he felt "alone and horrible" but that it was "something we all have to deal with".

Since the announcement, Martin revealed he has been met with messages of condolences from his fans on social media. He has now released an update to thank fans for his support.

Writing on Twitter, Martin said: "A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for your condolences, kind words and love. I said I consider you my friends, and you’ve shown the true meaning of friendship. It’s meant the absolute world to me and helped more than you will ever know."

In an accompanying video showing the host walking his two pet pooches, he added: "Nature to me is my comfort blanket. But I have to say I am humbled and so thankful to everyone who has taken their time to send me messages. I genuinely can't tell you how much of a difference it has made. They warm my heart and they are making such a difference at this time."

Martin also pointed out a number of white feathers on the ground as he walked. Some spiritualists believe finding a white feather can be a sign that a deceased loved one is watching over you, or is safe in the afterlife.

Fans have continued to show their support for Martin. @TomLawton17 said: "Happy to see you out Martin. Nature is a wonderful healer. All the best."

While @Mazstrict added: "I'm glad to hear this. Be kind to yourself at this very sad time and keep reaching out." And @KellieTreacy22 said: "You'll get through this with all the love and friendship."
