Martin Roberts' fans rush to support him following his sad announcement

Homes Under the Hammer frontman Martin Roberts sadly lost his dad last week and fans have rushed to support the property guru as he openly grieved his loss. The 59-year-old TV host told fans and followers that his 90-year-old dad had passed away peacefully via his Instagram account.

He recorded the emotional message, saying: "So I don't know if I should really be posting this video or not but, I guess people deal with things in different ways." He said. " This is a very private thing but I kind of just need to surround myself with as many people as I can who care right now. "My dad died yesterday. He was 90 and he had a great life and he died peacefully, he died at home and he wasn't in pain so that's great but it doesn't... well it does help but it doesn't help right now."

The presenter, who has recently spoken about ploughing thousands of pounds into his Rhondda projects, was understandably upset and his friends and followers rushed to offer their support.

His Homes Under the Hammer co-host Lucy Alexander reached out to Martin, writing on Instagram: "Very difficult to watch you in pain - I’m glad you are expressing it though. You have amazing memories. I know how close you were to your Dad. He’s with your mum now."

One fan, Angie, replied to Martin's Instagram post, saying: "Sorry for your loss martin my dear mum passed away 6 months ago..the fact that she was 96 doesn't make it any easier...its a process of roller coaster of emotions..miss her so much. Sending a huge hug."

Another fan sympathised: "I'm so sorry. I lost my dad suddenly nearly a year ago now and I still cry most days. It's a terrible pain. Sending you lots of love xxxxx" Liz Roberts added: " losing a parent is heartbreaking no matter how old they were I am so sorry for your loss x"
