Martin Odegaard runs out of superlatives for Mikel Arteta and hints at permanent Arsenal move

Martin Odegaard ran out of superlatives as he heaped praise on "amazing" Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Odegaard joined the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid in January and has hit the ground running in north London.

Arsenal are exploring avenues to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season.

Real Madrid want to keep hold of the Norway captain, but the 22-year-old's comments on Arteta suggest he may be keen to finally leave Los Blancos after six years and put pen to paper with a new club.

Odegaard said of Arteta in an interview with the Premier League: "Amazing! He is a really, really good coach, really intelligent, [knows] all the details in the game.

"He's a master of seeing the details. And the way he's coaching us and helping us to achieve things, we're lucky to have him.

"So many things to learn [from him], and as I said, about the details, that's something I really like and I find it interesting. So, yeah, it's very nice to have him as a coach."

This isn't the first time Odegaard has hinted he'd be keen on a permanent move to Arsenal.

"I have felt at home since the first day, I am happy to be here and feel great," the Norwegian told BT Sport after Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Olympiakos in the Europa League.

"It is just half time. We have to keep going. We have a big game on Saturday and then have to be ready for next Thursday.

"It is very important, we are not where we want to be in the league so this is very important for us and a chance to get Champions League football next year."
