Martin Odegaard's previous admission about his dream club may concern Arsenal fans even further.
Following the Gunners' 3-0 loss against Liverpool on Saturday night, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp engaged in a conversation with the Arsenal midfield loanee after the full-time whistle.
Whilst it is unclear as to what was said between the pair, the image was enough to send some Arsenal fans into a meltdown, suggesting a potential summer transfer to Anfield was the topic of discussion.
And that may have something to do with the fact that Odegaard has not hidden his admiration for the Merseyside giants in the past.
As a 15-year-old he was a target for Liverpool, but despite naming them as his dream club, the midfielder didn't let that affect his transfer decision to join Real Madrid.
"Liverpool have always been my dream club," Odegaard previously told German newspaper Sport Bild, as per the Evening Standard. "But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club.
"It's all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development.
"That is not necessarily Liverpool. I haven't really thought about my future yet.
"I will end the season here and then visit a number of clubs. I have not made a final decision yet, though.
"Of course, it's flattering when you hear that big clubs are after you, but I don't think about it too often."
As reported by football.london, Odegaard has told those close to him that he would like to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of this season.
And Mikel Arteta says the midfielder is happy at the Emirates Stadium.
"I speak with him every day," Arteta said. "I see his face, his body language and he seems really happy right now here.
"Our contract with him is until the end of the season. What we have to do is try to make him perform, develop and be as happy as he can be."
