Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka lead nominations for PFA Fans’ Player of the Year as Mohamed Salah misses out

Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka have been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award.

Six Premier League stars are in the running for the honour, which will be voted for by supporters online after an impressive challenge for the title by the Gunners.

Arsenal captain Odegaard and Saka are joined by Tottenham’s Harry Kane on the shortlist, after 27 league goals for the striker with still a couple of games to go to match his personal-best tally of 30.

However, Kane’s exploits have been somewhat overshadowed by Erling Haaland’s record-breaking haul for Manchester City.

The 36-goal forward is joined by City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford to complete the nominees.

It means the likes of Mohamed Salah, Ivan Toney, Alexis Mac Allister and Ollie Watkins have all missed out on a nod despite their own impressive campaigns.

In the Women’s category, Chelsea striker Sam Kerr and Arsenal’s Frida Maanum are on the six-player shortlist.

They are joined by Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, Man City’s Bunny Shaw and United duo Mary Earps and Ona Batlle.
