Martin O'Neill has immediately entered the frame to replace Rafa Benitez at Newcastle United, according to the bookies.
Sacked by Nottingham Forest after just five months in charge, the Northern Irishman was understood to have seen a breakdown in trust between himself and his senior players.
He has already been replaced by Frenchman Sabri Lamouchi.
But O'Neill is already at 10/1 odds to become the Magpies' next permanent manager, making him sixth favourite to land the role.
O'Neill has plenty of Premier League pedigree and has also managed on the international stage with Republic of Ireland.
Odds to become next permanent Newcastle United manager (betfair):
Mikel Arteta - 11/4
Roberto Martinez - 6/1
Sergio Conceicao - 8/1
Mark Hughes - 8/1
David Moyes - 9/1
Martin O'Neill - 10/1
Roy Keane 33/1
