Martin O'Neill has ruled himself out of returning to the Celtic hotseat - but believes Roy Keane has the required attributes for the job.
O'Neill, 69, has been linked with the job since Neil Lennon left the club last month after a terrible run of form from the Glasgow giants.
But the former Ireland boss, who has been out a job since leaving Nottingham Forest in 2019, won't be putting his name in the hat for a second stint.
"My time has gone. The torch has passed," he said, speaking on Sky Sport's coverage of Celtic's clash with Rangers today.
Asked then if he could see his former Ireland assistant Keane in the role, O'Neill said: "Well, what you see is what you get from Roy.
"My own personal view is that owners and chief executives are missing a trick by not thinking about him becoming a manager.
"I think he has learned a great deal. I think he's very capable of taking a top job."
The Old Firm derby ended in a 1-1 draw with Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos cancelling out Mohamed Elyounoussi's opener.
Rangers have already wrapped up the league title and sit twenty points clear of their city rivals.
