Martin McGuinness 'helps men load car bomb' in unseen footage set to air soon on BBC TV show

Martin McGuinness is seen as part of a group of men loading a bomb into a car in never seen before footage.

The clip, which is set to be aired on a BBC Spotlight documentary, is believed to have been shot in Derry on March 21, 1972.

Included in the footage is the former Sinn Fein leader and IRA member McGuinness, Belfast Live reports.

In it, several men are seen loading a device linked to an alarm clock into the back of the car along with some carpet.

The BBC Spotlight documentary hears from former IRA man Shane Paul O’Doherty who says the bomb looks like it could “blow them all to hell” if it went off prematurely.
