Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has issued a warning over 'buy now, pay later' schemes, as he said they could affect your credit score.
Martin appeared on This Morning to dish out advice alongside hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Today Martin focused on people's credit score and how people could improve their rating and what things they should avoid.
One caller rang in to ask Martin about payment schemes such as Klarna and Clearpay which allow people to split payments for products over several months.
The caller wanted to know if using these companies for payments would affect their credit score, as they had heard that they could.
Martin has strong views on these schemes and said they encouraged people to get into debt, without knowing they were doing so.
Martin said: "Buy now pay later has exploded over the past couple of years, this is when you go and you're making an online purchase and it says do you want to spread the cost.
"I worry and have a real problem with it, it encourages people to get into debt without realising it's a debt.
"If you pay each month in full, you pay what you've gotta pay, it won't affect your credit score.
"In fact it's a problem it won't because it would be nice if it were recorded and it would improve your credit score to prove you were a good borrower.
"However if you default some of the buy now pay later companies do reserve the right to put a mark on your credit file, so it could if you were not to pay impact your credit file."
