Consumer finance guru Martin Lewis is calling everyone who has worked from home during the pandemic to make sure they claim the free cash they are entitled to.
Speaking on ITV's The Martin Lewis Show he told all his viewers to check if they have claimed their working from home tax allowance.
The tax break offers anyone who has worked from home £6 a week in tax relief.
While it doesn't sound like much the tax relief can be claimed for the whole of the 2020/21 tax year, making it worthwhile for everyone.
And to make it better the whole year's tax relief can be claimed even if you only worked from home for one day this year.
Martin said: "If you had extra costs, for example, extra heating or electricity costs, you are entitled to either £6 a week from your employer... or £6 a week tax relief. So, £6 of your salary that isn't taxed.
"So if you are a 20% taxpayer you save about £1.20 on that £6. If you want to claim more you need proof of the direct bills.
"Now, for this tax year even if you have just worked from home one day - and been required to work from home - you can get the whole year's tax relief via the Gov.uk microservice, which just gives you it automatically.
"It's 100% legit."
By claiming the tax relief basic taxpayers can claim back £62 for the whole year. Higher taxpayers can claim back double that figure and nab an extra £124 for the year.
It's currently unsure how the system will work during the next tax year, so Martin urged everyone to make their claim on the Government's website before April 5 to make sure they get everything they are owed.
