Martin Lewis's latest Nectar points advice has gone down a treat with shoppers. The founder of Money Saving Expert shared the top tip on his ITV series, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, which was celebrating its 100th episode.
The consumer champion, who has helped thousands with his financial advice through his famous weekly newsletters, Twitter account and regular appearances on This Morning, explained how to get an easy 2,000 free Nectar points without really doing anything.
Martin said: "Nectar is giving a Juicy Boost via its app, so log into the Nectar app, make sure it's the updated one or this won't work, and press Juicy Points Boost. It's dead easy to do, you'll get between 100 and 2,000 Nectar points, totally for free for doing nothing, worth between 50p and £10."
Martin even revealed he'd got his own team to do it, with the show's floor manager receiving 1,090 free points, which equates to just over £5 to spend in Sainsbury's.
He added: "Look, the point of this is they're trying to do a sales pitch to show you how much more you would gain in missed opportunities without the app, but it's free points for nothing."
However, it wasn't long before the Nectar app crashed, with many taking to social media on the subject.
One wrote: "@itvMLshow I just tried to see how many extra Nectar points I can get but the website and app has crashed."
"Nectar app is still crashed, everyone wants those Juicy Boost Points," added another.
After hearing the news on his show, Martin told viewers not to panic.
"Listen, I'm just hearing that the Nectar app has crashed," Martin's co-host Angellica Bell explained.
Responding, the presenter said: "That doesn't surprise me, look I don't see Juicy Boost disappearing very quickly let's hope not, so why not just give it a break and do it tomorrow. It only takes 20 seconds once you get on the app, it's not a big job."
