Martin Lewis reveals how to get a free car check this winter

Martin Lewis has revealed how you can get a free car check this winter worth around £15.

The Money Saving Expert founder appeared on Good Morning Britain today to give his money saving tips.

Each week the financial guru has a segment on the ITV breakfast show called Martin Lewis: Super Savings Hero, in which he runs through a handful of deals, offers and financial advice.

Today, Martin explained how you can get a free winter car check by driving to a Halfords store or Autocentre.

The check only takes around 15 minutes and is completely free - you don't even need to book in advance.

"You’ll get a battery health check, headlight and brake light check, windscreen wipers and chip check, and an MOT due date reminder," Martin told viewers.

However, Martin warned that they might try to upsell you and urged people not to be pressured into buying anything you don't need.

"They'll try and probably upsell you of course they will, that's how these things work," Martin said.

"But you don't need to pay anything at all."

Martin also expressed how this free check is especially beneficial if you have an MOT coming up, so you can make sure you get things checked out beforehand to avoid them being failed.
