Martin Lewis reveals how to cut the price of your broadband bill

Martin Lewis has spent another Thursday evening telling the great British public how to save its hard-earned cash.

And tonight (January 14), he revealed a surefire way to make sure you're bagging the best broadband bargain you can find.

As always, he was keen to point out that there are good deals for those who can be bothered to look.

He estimated that most people pay £35 to £40 a month, and said that in most cases, there are better deals out of contract.

Instead, he advised opting for short-lived deals from price comparison sites.

"Existing customers, in most cases, are given access to all, the tariffs.

"So how do they attract new customers? They give you incentives on top of their cheapest tariffs and they put them on comparison sites so only people who are looking to switch properly get offered them."

MoneySavingExpert has a whole page dedicated to comparing the best deals for your broadband here.

The website also has a handy tip for those who can't really be bothered switching providers.

"Switching usually nets you the cheapest prices, but if you are out of contract – or nearing the end – you could try to haggle your price.

"As there's stiff competition, companies are frantic to keep hold of customers. That is why in our polls on haggling with service companies, communication providers are frequently among the easiest to haggle with.

"In our November 2020 survey of 4,000+ MoneySavers, more than 80% who tried had success with BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin.
