Martin Lewis responds to GMB viewer over poppy complaints as he makes return

Martin Lewis hit back at a Good Morning Britain viewer as they complained about his poppy.

The money-saving expert was back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Monday morning alongside Susanna Reid.

Viewers may have noticed in recent days that TV presenters have started to wear a poppy ahead of Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

But after receiving some complaints about the way he was wearing the poppy, Martin adjusted it.

"Another frustrating year of watching upside-down poppy leaves. Why has no one designed this out of them? #gmb," one viewer said.

Another commented: "@GMB someone should tell Martin Lewis he is wearing his poppy incorrectly, the leaf should be at the 11 o’clock position to commentate the day and hour the war ended."

"Good morning Martin please fix the leaf on your poppy it should sit at the 11oclock position," a third added.

Martin was back on the show with Susanna (ITV)

Martin, however, then hit out at those who had messaged in to highlight the issue.

"Someone got in touch to say that my poppy leaf should be at 11 o’clock not seven o’clock," he explained on GMB.

"Now, the British Legion says what counts - there’s no specific rule and what counts is that you wear it with pride.

"But if you're really so bothered about where my leaf was, just to make you happy I've moved it for you."

And fans also defended him.

"@GMB if people moan because of wear someone places their poppy wrong , absolutely silly wear your poppy with pride! #PoppyAppeal #GMB #goodmorningbritain," one said.

Another commented: "someone moaning about your poppy @MartinSLewis tell em to naff orf #GMB."
