Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert reveals latest predictions for Amazon Prime Day

Martin Lewis ’ MoneySavingExpert.com team has revealed their predictions for what discounts you could see during Amazon Prime Day.

Amazon Prime Day kicks off this week, from July 11 to 12, offering money off on everything from beauty to tech and homeware.

You need to be signed up to Amazon Prime to access the discounts, which costs £8.99 a month or £95 for the year - although there is a way to get a free monthly trial in time for Prime Day.

MoneySavingExpert.com has rounded up predictions for what could be on offer this year - but as this is just guesswork, there is no guarantee these items will definitely be reduced.

  • Fitbit - up to 50% off

  • GHD - up to 30% off

  • Ring - up to 30% off

  • Shark - up to 40% off

Other popular products that MSE claims could be discounted includes:

  • Beauty: Garnier, Rimmel, CeraVe.

  • Electronics: Duracell, Bose, JBL.

  • Fashion: Boss, Havaianas, Swarovski.

  • Home: Philips Hue, Oral-B, SodaStream, Finish Powerball.

  • Toys: Barbie, Lego, Hasbro.

Before you get carried away, you should only really purchase a product if you were planning on buying it anyway - not just because it is on sale.

You should also still compare prices, as Amazon is not always the cheapest place to make a purchase - even during its Prime Day events.

CamelCamelCamel tracks prices on Amazon over time, so you can see when the item you're looking to buy was at its lowest.

Comparison sites that check other retailers include PriceSpy and PriceRunner.

There are also separate Amazon pages where you may be able to nab a bargain.

Amazon Renewed is a separate page where you can purchase "as new" refurbished goods at a cheaper price.

These products even come with a separate one-year warranty, to give you peace of mind.

Amazon Outlet sells overstocked items at discounted prices - for example, if a retailer wasn't able to sell everything after Christmas.

Discounts offered can be 50% off or more.

Amazon Warehouse is where you'll be able to purchase returned or slightly damaged goods at lower prices.

The condition of the item is listed - for example, "like new" or "acceptable" - and if you're not happy with what you receive, you can return it within 30 days.
