Martin Lewis issues warning to parents opening bank and savings accounts for children

Martin Lewis has issued a warning to parents and guardians opening bank and saving accounts for children.

The Money Saving Expert urged adults to ensure their own accounts are in order, before even attempting to opening accounts for youngsters.

Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday (April 22), the financial guru said: "My philosophy it like when you are on airplane and they say the oxygen masks will drop, please put you your own mask on first before your child's.

“You need to make sure your own finances are right before saving for your child."
