Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning to Mothercare shoppers.
Writing on his Twitter profile, the Money Saving Expert advised anybody with a Mothercare gift card to use it today, or risk losing out for good.
Tweeting to his followers, Martin said: "Urgent. Spread word to anyone with a Mothercare gift card, the "in administration" retailer will stop accepting gift cards at midnight tonight. So if you've got one, use it now..."
Shoppers were quick to respond to the tweet, with some claiming they have struggled to use their gift cards.
"Tried to use ours the day the administration news broke and it's been 'pending' ever since so clearly not accepting orders!" wrote one consumer.
Another added: "Used mine to order online 4th November, paid extra through PayPal. Order was due today but now saying ‘delayed’ ."
"Went to the Edmonton store and I was refused using my GC. Showed site and they still refused. Had to go to WGreen store instead who were great," claimed a third.
Earlier this week Mothercare launched a huge 'everything must go' clearance sale.
Stores in Cheetham Hill, Warrington and Preston all saw some huge discounts across ranges, and customers rushed to grab themselves some serious bargains.
In a statement about the sale, a spokesperson for Mothercare said: "This is a great opportunity for customers to pick up some amazing deals as everything is reduced. Demand will be high so don’t wait to grab a fantastic deal, especially if you’re Christmas shopping.
"We’d also like to thank our customers for their historic support of the Mothercare brand."
