Martin Lewis issues urgent Lifetime ISA warning for first time buyers

  • Martin Lewis has issued an urgent financial warning to individuals aged between 18 and 39.
  • The Money Saving Expert advises those without a Lifetime ISA (LISA) to open one immediately, even with a nominal amount.
  • This recommendation is due to the LISA being replaced by the new First Time Buyer (FTB) ISA in April 2028.
  • Having an existing LISA will allow users to continue utilising it and potentially combine bonuses with the new FTB ISA.
  • The forthcoming FTB ISA will provide a 25 per cent government bonus on savings up to £4,000, applicable for either property purchase or retirement.
