The website founded by consumer champion, Martin Lewis, has issued an important message to Tesco shoppers that use home delivery or its Click & Collect service.
Tesco recently announced it has started charging flat fees for both these shopping services after a shake-up which means cheaper time slots are no longer available.
Home delivery customers had been able to choose a time slot that suited their lifestyle and their budget, with prices ranging from £2 to £7, however, the supermarket scrapped its peak and off-peak price tiers at the start of August.
All one-hour delivery slots will now cost £4.50 and those who get their goods delivered from a 'fulfilment centre' will have to pay £5.50 per delivery.
The change also affects Click & Collect, which offered the pick-up service for between £0 and £2. There will now be a flat-rate charge of £1.50.
Customers who order items worth less than £40 for delivery, or less than £25 for Click & Collect, will also have to pay a £4 surcharge.
The changes for both services could result in extra costs for those who usually opt for off-peak slots.
Tesco said the changes have been brought in because they were facing constant demand throughout the week since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, reports MoneySavingExpert.com.
The supermarket will continue to offer its 'flexi-saver' option, which allows customers to book a much less specific four-hour window for £3.
MoneySavingExpert.com advises shoppers who tend to order two deliveries or more a month from Tesco, to consider the Delivery Saver option.
The Delivery Saver costs £7.99 a month or £47.94 for a six-month block and gives customers free delivery and free Click & Collect, as many times they like each month.
