Martin Lewis issues 8-day warning as millions of Tesco Clubcard vouchers to expire

Money-saving expert Martin Lewis has issued a warning to all Tesco customers who hold a Clubcard as £13million worth of vouchers are set to expire very soon.

Vouchers are issued every three months in February, May, August and November, and they are valid for tor two years from the date that they were issued on.

Which is why the financial guru has warned that shoppers that any vouchers issued in November 2021 are set to expire in just eight days, reports The Mirror.

Martin Lewis told his viewers on the Martin Lewis Money Saving TV Show: "Check whether you’ve got [vouchers to use] at Tesco.com/Clubcard or via the app."

The supermarket giant's free loyalty scheme issues shoppers with points every time they shop in-store and online, as well as when filling up their car with petrol.

Martin Lewis issued the 8-day warning on his ITV show (ITV)

A minimum of 150 points can be used to get a Clubcard voucher worth £1.50 that can be redeemed on on Tesco purchases.

Shoppers are also able to triple their points at a range of more than 100 reward partners that includes PizzaExpress, Fitbit and Spa Seekers.

Alternatively, shoppers can use vouchers to reduce their Christmas shop, on petrol for days out or to pick up a great new deal with Tesco Mobile.

Members can check how many vouchers they have left before they expire by using the app, or by logging into the Tesco Clubcard website.

Additionally, if you're not ready to use up all your vouchers just yet, then Martin has explained how you can extend your vouchers for that bit longer.

All you need to do is simply make a small purchase with your Clubcard vouchers , then the remaining balance is credited back to your account with another two-year deadline.

“Take your £10 voucher online and buy a 50p restaurant voucher on its Reward page - which is worth £1.50 because they triple it,” said Martin.

“Now, you will get reissued £9.50, the change, in vouchers, and they are new vouchers so they have a two-year lifespan.”

Clubcard members should be receiving their next set of Clubcard vouchers this month - and these will again be valid for two years.
