Martin Lewis has bad news for every single person planning a holiday this year - whether it's abroad or a staycation

Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has shared a warning message for anybody planning a holiday this summer.

Appearing on This Morning, the finance journalist was quizzed about the best insurance to get if you want to go away in 2020.

But in a rare occurrence, he couldn't do so.

He said that he couldn't suggest a company as it depends on your circumstances, describing travel insurance as 'bespoke'.

When asked by a caller if he could recommend a particular service, Martin said: "No, is the honest answer.

"Travel insurance is a bespoke product that you need depending on how long you are going for and when you are going."

The Money Saving Expert continued to explain what cover was available and warn the public about how it is affected by coronavirus lockdowns, reports Cambridgeshire Live.

And here's the bad news.

During the segment, Martin revealed that it is not possible to get coverage that protects you if your holiday is cancelled due to lockdown.

He explained: "Everyone wants cover in case they can't go due to a lockdown. That doesn't exist.

"You can get cover if you or a family member gets Covid so you can't go, some cover if you have been told to self-isolate.

"There is no cover anymore for Covid-related lockdown, I'm afraid."
