Money Saving Expert's Martin Lewis has revealed a clever airport hack that could save holidaymakers hundreds this summer.
Speaking on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, Lewis shone a light on the high costs of airport cark parks.
The cash saving guru explained that travellers could save hundreds of pounds by booking a parking space ahead of time.
Martin spoke of Manchester Airport as an example of a travel hub where passengers are paying too much.
He said there, drivers are forking out a staggering £400 a week to park their car, the Mirror reported.
According to Martin, motorists who book in advance only have to splash out £130 for the same length holiday, meaning a saving of £270 for the week.
He said: "Parking at the airport, book ahead. Even if it's on the day.
"Given an example, we found one case where, if you turn up at Manchester Airport and paid there it's £400 for the week.
"If you had pre-booked that morning, it was £130. Better still, if you had booked earlier, there are comparison sites for that too."
He went on to advise travellers to go on comparison sites to check hotel prices and to make the most of free cancellations.
During the show, Martin explained to viewers that the best way to save money abroad is by using a credit or debit card.
But he stressed that you need to choose the right card in order to avoid "paying to pay" while on holiday.
He showcased three types of cards that are the best for those travelling abroad:
- Chase debit card
- Halifax Clarity credit card
- Barclaycard Rewards credit card
