When summer comes round, sunscreen is a must but how do you know if that bottle still up in the cupboard from last year is worth a squirt?
Well, Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has the answer.
Speaking to Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway on ITV's Good Morning Britain, the finance guru explained that all you need to do is turn your bottle round to the back to find what looks like a little tub with the lid off.
Inside the picture of the tub it will say a number followed by the letter M, meaning the number of months your sunscreen will be effective once you've opened it. Game changer.
So if it says 18M inside the tub, and you opened your sunscreen last summer, you're good to go.
And as if Mr Lewis wasn't genius enough, he suggested that from now on when you open your sunscreen you scribble the date onto the bottle, so you're totally sure for next year. Hats off, sir!
And finally... now you know what the tub with the lid off means, you'll be spotting it on loads of your products because it's on everything from serums and face creams to foundation and shampoo.
