Martin Lewis fans claim his 'annoying habit' means they 'can't understand him'

Martin Lewis has been called out by fans on This Morning for talking too fast, as they say they have 'no idea what he's on about'.

Money-Saving Expert Martin joined Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford in the studio on This Morning to answer viewers' concerns about their finances.

On this episode he offered fans advice on mortgages, negative interest rates and how to save money during the pandemic - tips which have been known to save people huge amounts of money, reports Daily Star.

But a few viewers struggled to keep up with the helpful information because of how quickly he was talking, and took to Twitter to beg him to slow down so they could take notes.

Fans didn't know what he was saying (ITV)

One said: "Ok slow this guy down.....I got as far as good morning."

Another said: "Never trust someone who talks fast."

A third wrote: "As always not a f****** clue what Martin is on about."

And a fourth who referred to a later segment of the show with celeb chef Donal Skehan, said: "He talks faster than Martin Lewis."

Caller Hilary had expressed her concerns about negative interest, asking: "What is negative equity interest on savings accounts?"

"The Bank of England asked banks to prepare in case they went for negative interest rates 10 days ago," Martin explained.

"But that doesn't mean it's going to happen.

"I think it's unlikely that mainstream rates will go negative in the UK but it is plausible.

"It means your savings would shrink if you put your money into a savings account with negative interest."

However, he added that even in a worst case scenario, it's unlikely that all banks will be offering negative rates as there will still be competition between rivals.

Urging viewers to take action, he added: "The solution is to fix your savings' rates now."
